AGE Platform Europe unites some 150 civil organisations from around Europe and defends the rights and the contributions of older people in Europe.
The members of the European Platform of older people AGE and guests got together between 16 and 18 November 2016 in Brussels for the Annual Meeting and Conference. They attended presentations from representatives of the European Commission, research teams and universities, civil organisations and networks in the framework of the event.
One important theme that was discussed was the necessity of the development and adaptation of an UN Convention on the Rights of Older People.
A thematic session “Why Human Rights Matter?: Exchange with external experts” and a capacity building session “How to use the human rights in our work?” took place in the frame of the conference, moderated by Maria Petkova from Tulip Foundation.
