The aim of the project was to improve the quality of life of eight young people aged 18 to 30 living in Protected House in Ovoshtnik village.
Two sun collectors were bought and installed on the two houses (for men and women) in the frame of the project activities. As a result the monthly electricity bills were reduced by 60-70%. Currently in the two houses there is hot water at all times and the schedule for bath and dish washing was cancelled.
The protected house offers to young people opportunities for independent life through learning and support provided by professionals – physiologist, speech therapist, social worker, and occupational therapist. The houses offer place for individual and group work, bed rooms, family-like kitchen and dining room, fruit and vegetable garden.
The mayor of Ovoschtnik village, the local doctor and policeman regularly meet and support the team of professionals working in the protected house as well as the youngsters living there. The local people also accept and support the youngsters and often visit them.
We are proud of successful reintegration of two young people from the protected house. Yordan is now living again with his biological family and Velichka got married to a young man from the village. Two new young persons were accommodated at the protected house. In addition three other young people are trained in different Social professional training centres in the country.
