This year 49 initiatives were nominated – a huge variety of activities in education, culture, ecology, sports, city living, social inclusion implemented by civil and business organisations, community clubs, schools, universities, touristic associations and voluntary groups.
A Jury with members Diana Kovacheva, Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, Alexey Lazarov, Chief Editor of Capital newspaper and Manol Peikov, publisher Janet 45, will select the best initiatives of the year. These will evaluated based on their results, the importance for the local community, the number and the involvement of the participants, the impact of the initiative for the development of the capacity of the volunteers and the team of the organisation, the financial effectiveness.
Volunteering is a personal and conscious act of learning and connection with people. It is a fundamental form of democracy. It is part of the daily life of thousands of people in Bulgaria!
