Aim: Prevention of abandonment of children in Plovdiv and Haskovo through development and application of a model for support for under aged mothers and parents and positive parenting.
Activities: Support for under aged mothers and parents in Positive parenting groups and development of parenting skills groups; home visits by trained Roma volunteers; raising the awareness of young people about the risks of early pregnancy and early parenting; seminars for young people for family planning; building of sustainable volunteer groups in Roma community through training and regular meetings; support for social workers and volunteer coordinators for application and development of the model in Plovdiv, Hisar, Haskovo, Saedinenie, Krichim and Rakovski.
Target groups: Under aged pregnant women (15 – 17 years) from Roma community; single mothers; poor families, children with disabilities; young people from Haskovo (13-15 years) at risk of early marriages; teenagers; Roma volunteers; social workers; general practitioners from Plovdiv and Haskovo.
