Representatives of member organisations of COFACE Families Europe got together in Monza, Italy for a number of network events at the end of March. The week started with a working meeting of the Council of Administration on 27 March. The COFACE Disability Platform Annual Meeting followed on the next day. It was hosted by the Italian member AIAS. Throughout the day we engaged in extensive exchange and discussions on disability and age in the various aspects - children with disabilities, ageing people with disabilities and family carers. A position paper was discussed. Member organisations from France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy and others presented their successful practices and key recommendations.
The COFACE General Assembly took place on 29 March. Along with administrative issues we talked about quality standards for early child care and education and a position paper of the network. The importance and necessity of integration of health, social and educational services for children and their families was underlined once again. The last day was devoted to the Expert meeting on Inclusive education. Projects and initiatives were presented.
The 50th anniversary of the Italian partner AIAS was market at a formal dinner with guests and members of the organisation.
