International IIRP conference “From dream to reality” brought together more than 100 participants and speakers committed to restorative practices in their countries in Budapest from 10 to 12 June 2015.
The closing plenary session was dedicated to the theme: “The long way implementing Restorative Practices in former socialist countries: Where are we in the process since 1989, and what is next?”. The panelists Maria Petkova from Tulip Foundation, Dr. Maria Herczog from Hungary, Prof. Jozef Mikloško from Slovakia, Zeljka Burgund from Serbia and Juhaszne Czegledy Ibolya from Hungary presented their experience, observations and conclusions about the development, the difficulties and the opportunities for the application of restorative practices in the region. The participants raised numerous questions and comments and worked in small groups to develop a plan for a wider application of various restorative practices.
