Tulip Foundation’s Team Study Visit to the Netherlands, July 2010

The team of Tulip Foundation spent a week on a study visit in the Netherlands 5 – 9 July 2010. The aim of the visit was to exchange experience and good practices with funding and civil organisations, active in the social sphere.

The team had a meeting with representatives of MOVISIE (The Netherlands Centre for Social Development) and Community Partnership Consultants (CPC). The teams discussed practical steps in the context of a project for promotion of cooperation between the business and the civil sector.

The programme of the visit included meetings and talks with representatives of few foundations, that work on a national level and provide funding for civil organisations. Foundation Sluyterman van Loo supports initiatives and projects targeted at seniors. Mental Health Foundation raises funds, organises campaigns, publishes informational materials and gives funding to organisations that realise activities aimed at integration of people with mental disabilities in the society. Skan Foundation is one of the Cooperating Netherlands Foundations that support the process of social transformation in Central and Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Montenegro, Serbia) and for more than 60 years provides financial support for civil organizations in the Netherlands for the implementation of social projects.

Very interesting and useful were the meeting with representatives of the city of Amsterdam and civil organisations that develop and implement policies in the field of care for youth, children and families. The colleagues from the Netherlands Youth Institute, Municipality Amsterdam, Eigen Kracht Centrale, SPIRIT shared their long term experience and presented various up-to-date model for work with children and families at risk. 

The study visit was organised in the frame of the Programme for Social Transformation through Encouraging Social Responsibility supported by MATRA Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
