Millions of people from all generations mark Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June. On this day they turn to their fathers, grandfathers and other significant men from the family with appreciation for their support, shared time and “men’s” conversations. On this day we remind parents that when growing up children will not follow their advices but their role models that they have experienced in the family. To be a father is a joy and a responsibility.
On this sunny summer Day of Fathers Tulip Foundation organised the traditional public event on Alexander Nevski square in cooperation with Sofia Municipality. Hundreds of children with their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers and mothers enjoyed hours on the square. They all had the opportunity to meet a police dog Lucky, to ride the police horses Preston and Archie, to get a picture on the various motors, fire brigade automobiles, ambulance, special emergency vehicles. They got to know special emergency equipment for helping people in accidents and natural disasters in the city and the mountain. The alarms and the signal lights of police and fire brigade cars were heard and seen from a far for hours.
The event was organised with the special cooperation of Sofia Fire Brigade, Sofia Police, Sofia Directorate Emergency Assistance and Prevention and Directorate Security.
We thank all colleagues from the police, the fire brigade, protection and emergency assistance who made the day a true celebration for hundreds of children and parents!
