Second marketplace in Ruse, 4 July 2012

The Second marketplace took place on 5 July at the halls of Russe Art Gallery. After successful first marketplace last year the local business and civil organizations met again to find mutual opportunities for cooperation by seeking and offering goods, materials, services, volunteering.

The marketplace in Ruse was realized by Tulip Foundation in cooperation with Russe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local civil organizations, Municipality of Ruse and The Trust for Civil Society in Southeastern Europe. Performing different tasks, volunteers brought a lot to the success o f the event. That was Ilya Devedjiev from Arenamedia who lead the marketplace for a second year; Gergana Ilieva, broker from Ruse Regional Informational Center; Angela Genova, notary for a second year; young volunteers from Ruse Dynamic Center. The marketplace was also supported by Ruse State Opera, Ruse Art Gallery and Roden Krai Ruse Agricultural Cooperation.

Maria Petkova, Director of Tulip Foundation and Milen Dobrev, Executive Director of Russe Chamber of Commerce and Industry opened the event.

This year new civil organizations from the city and the region were attracted. First they passed a training on mutual cooperation with business.

At the end of the marketplace Maria Petkova announced the results – 41 deals were signed within an hour that if financially calculated they would exceed 24 000 BGN. In addition to the signed deals another tens of meetings for detailed discussions and further cooperation have been agreed for the coming days.

The signed deals included: exchange of social, psychological and juridical services, PR, advertisement; volunteer labor, consultations and trainings of HR; cooperation in projects, organization of informational campaigns; offers for office techniques, furniture, construction materials, garden design, insurance, mobile medical services, etc.

Dynamic Center Association and Third Age Foundation were the two civil organizations that signed highest and equal number of deals. EuroIns, the Association for social technologies and “Dili – 67” EOOD were the business organizations that signed the highest number of deals – four. The Regional Agency for Social Assistance signed 5 deals.

After the successful conduction of the second marketplace in Ruse the team of Tulip Foundation gave the materials to the local initiative group that will be supported by the team in the marketplace organization in the coming years.
