The event was organised by the newly established Civil network “Active community – Vratza” as an initiative of the Association for religious and social support for prisoners in the framework of a two years project realized in partnership with the Catholic Organization Caritas, Russe. The project is financed by Tulip Foundation and Oak foundation in the frame of the Support for children and families aimed at prevention of institutionalization of children programme.
Representatives of different institutions presented up-to-date statistical data concerning: the type of juvenile delinquency, number of children, educational and correctional measures taken in the municipality. The organisers demonstrated a methodology they have developed for work with children with delinquent behaviour based on active involvement of the family, mentors –volunteers, citizens and other nongovernmental organisations as well as all institutions engaged in the process of raising up and protection for children. Concrete steps for involvement of children with delinquent behaviour in activities of the member organisations aimed at support, protection and education of children based on their individual needs were recommended.
