The aim of the campaign is to encourage various joint initiatives of people from all generations and to bring the theme of human solidarity which is especially needed in difficult times to the attention of the society.Numerous civil organisations from different places around the country organised various initiatives in the days around 29 April with the active participation of people from all generations – meetings, musical and dance performances, sports and cooking competitions, exhibitions etc.

29 April is a European day of Solidarity between Generations since 2008 and is aiming to draw the attention of the society to the need of adequate policies for older people in the EU. Solidarity between generations plays a key role in the development of fair and sustainable responses to the major economic and social challenges that the EU is facing nowadays.
