Dear colleagues, partners and friends, 

For a fifth successive year Tulip Foundation appeals to partners, colleagues and friends to take part in a national campaign for 29 April 2013 – the European Day of Solidarity between Generations – a day for communication, sharing and appreciation. Solidarity between generations is important for all of us - as individuals, families and a society. It means continuity, sustainability and confidence for all. The purpose of this day is for us to encourage and organise various joint initiatives of people from all generations and to bring the theme of human solidarity which is especially needed in difficult times to the attention of the society. 

It has already become a tradition in a number of places to celebrate 29 April with interesting local initiatives. Over the last four years some 160 initiatives have been realised in more than 140 towns and villages all around Bulgaria with the active participation of thousands of people from all generations. 

Join us! 

You may plan all kinds of initiatives and activities. The important thing is to present the theme of solidarity between generations in comprehensive, easy to understand and interesting way for all participants.

In accordance with your ideas you can organise different initiatives like for example: 

• Events where people from different ages meet, talk, tell stories or discuss together the links and relations among generations; 
• Joint initiatives for children, youth and older people like competitions, exhibitions, sport events, music and dance performances, cultural or traditional events; 
• Meetings and discussions with representatives of local authorities, local civil organisations and the local community to debate different forms of solidarity and cooperation between generations, successful examples of social inclusion; 
• Other interesting ideas you that you have. 

We will collect information about the different initiatives around the country in a summary information for the media. As each year we will also disseminate information in stories and pictures about the initiated activities in various places. We expect that you to send us information about your initiative by filling out the participation form (in Bulgarian) and sending it to info@tulipfoundation.net before 23 April 2013.
