The aim of the meeting was to provoke a discussion about the various possibilities for strengthening the civil dialog about the social inclusion of elderly people. The debated themes included the various aspects of social exclusion of elderly people in Bulgaria] the possibilities for effective and permanent process of consultation with elderly people and civil organisations working with and for elderly people] the ways and forms for collaboration with national and local authorities.

The participants told about their practical work and shared various ideas for strengthening the position of elderly people in the society. The necessity of a mechanism for interaction between the different organisations and institutions in the development and the application of policies for elderly people was confirmed.

The participants united around the need of an informal network of organisations working with and for elderly people which would be tool for more effective social inclusion of elderly people; for joint positions on various problems and active participation in the process of development and debating of policies. The network is open for all organisations that want to share information and cooperate with colleagues from around the country.
