Currently there are 42 families from 12 villages (Koilovci, Opanec, Iassen, Brashlisnitza, Telish, Mechka, Radishevo, Gortalovo, Ralevo, Beglej, Tuchenitsa and Barkach) included in the Programпе.

Till the end of the last 2010 year a total of thirty three poor families with children in these villages have received a pregnant pedigree cow as a donation from Tulip Foundation. In addition nine families have passed the gift to another family in the same or neighbouring village. Six more heifers will be given to new families during the current 2011 year.

Fifteen new families were included in the Programme during 2010. All of them are families with children undergoing difficulties cause by financial problems. Six new villages have joined the Programme in 2010.

The municipality of Pleven has provided the families included in the programme with land for free for the needs of the livestock. In each of the villages the programme is realised in close cooperation with the local Chitalishte, Pleven Public Fund Chitalishte, the mayors of the villages and the Municipality of Pleven.

During 2010 as an additional support to the families in Pleven region we started a cooperation with Pleven Public Fund Chitalishte and Habitat for Humanity Foundation– Bulgaria who offer an opportunity for small interest-free loans to families in urgent need of improving living conditions. Most of these families participate in the Pass on the Gift Programme or in the Prevention of placement of children in social institutions programme
