The goal of the project was to decrease the number of cases of domestic violence against women of Roma origin in Orel district of Razgrad. 

Two inquiries were organised among some 200 people from Roma origin about the problem of domestic violence in the beginning of the project and as well as at its end of the activities. The results showed that every third woman from Roma origin is a victim of a domestic violence. 

A special room was separated and equipped as a consulting centre for women victims of domestic violence after a renovation of an unused space in the Carmen Centre for Mothers. In this place two groups of female volunteers offer consultation and advices. 

As a result of an active partnership with Naya Association from Targovishte two trainings were organised on the origin and the specifics of the domestic violence and about how to offer first psychological aid to victims. The focus was on the explaining and making the Law on the protection against domestic violence known to women, psychological and behaviour consequences of violence, child abuse in the family, etc. 

As one of the main results of the project the team was able to reach a mutual trust between the members and the Roma women from Orel neighborhood. This is a good base for the future work with the Roma women from the neighborhood aimed at their inclusion, socialisation and successful realisation in life.
