The aim of the project was to reduce social isolation of elderly people in Kapitan Dimitrievo village by creating a place for social contacts and communication.

The premise provided by the mayor to the local Chitalishte for free for the next 10 years was renovated in the frame of the project. Volunteers from the Chitalishte and the village repaired the roof and the chimney, painted the walls and the ceiling, new windows were placed.

The Daily Center for Elderly People was equipped with tables, chairs, television, stove, coffee-machine, games and a blood pressure measurement tool. The premise is situated in the very centre of the village and is accessible for the whole local community.

The local people visit the Center every day; they established different clubs according to their interests and hobbies. Monthly meetings with various specialists, experts, social workers and lawyers are organized. The children also gather in the Centre to discuss books and play different games.
