Rhodopa Mountain - XXI Century Association has been implementing projects aimed at re-socialisation of children with deviant behaviour since 2001.
By implementing the project With friends on the road of dreams we achieved efficient prevention, re-socialisationand integration of children at risk as well as overcoming the social isolation of children and young people with disabilities and thus improving the quality of their life. The project goal was to provide opportunities for individual work with 41 children (16 children who have achieved some positive change in their behaviour, 12 children with antisocial bevahiour, 8 children – victims of violence, 5 children with disabilities), to occupy their free time with useful activities which develop their abilities and social skills as well as to work with their parents during the Sunday seminars Parents, society, law and at the consultancy bureau.
Within the project frame we organized groups with different activities which include: theatre, art, computers, literature, police academy and psychological support; consultancy services and Sunday seminars for parents. The total number of consultations provided by all specialists involved in the project amounts to 273.
Among the positive project results we are proud to mention that none of the children participating the project has been involved in any antisocial acts, 18 girls and 9 boys continue their rehearsals for the new play in the theater studio at the Orfeevi Gori chitalishte; 2 girls and 3 boys took the initiative to prepare the decors for the new play.
Our partners in the project implementation include the Regional Police Department, Smolian, the Commission for Fight against the Anti-social Acts of Minors and Juveniles, the Orfeevi Gori Chitalishte, the Regional Court and Prosecution Office in Smolian. The methods applied in the project have been incorporated in the Working Map for prevention of antisocial behaviour of minors and juveniles and violence against children on theterritory of Smolian municipality developed by the team of Rhodopa Mountain - XXI Century Association.
