AGE Platform Europe and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) - the voice of the civil society in Europe, organised a Conference "Present and future of EU policy for older persons". It took place at the House of Europe in Madrid in the end of November in the frame of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU. Important topics like the EU strategy on aging, the current state of the labour market for older people, the upcoming European Parliament elections in the next year, were on the agenda.

The meeting of the Council of Administration of AGE Platform Europe took place in the capital of Spain in the next days. AGE Platform is the European network of organisations working with and for older people in the member states. It brings together more than hundred national and international organisations. Maria Petkova was elected Vice President of AGE Platform.
