Projects of the Year 2022

The traditional Project of the Year 2022 awards wеre announced for an eighteen successive year at a public ceremony on 15 May at Literature Club Peroto. The awards are recognition for the professionalism and achievements of civil organisations. in Bulgaria. This year we received 23 nominations from around the country. These are presented by the teams of the organisation, partners, donors, participants and volunteers. The activities are aimed at children and older people, women and youngsters, families and communities, children with disabilities and people with rare diseases, inhabitants of small settlements.

Jury of leading professionals from business, arts and diplomats selected the best projects based on preannounced criteria - achieved results, sustainability of the project activities, financial efficiency, participation of the target groups and the local communities, innovative services and the possibilities for implementing the project in other places around the country. The members of the Jury announced the awards.

Vladimir Penkov, Senior partner at Penkov, Markov & Partners and a member of the Board of Tulip Foundation presented H.E. Irene Plank, Ambassador of Germany to Bulgaria. And underlined the importance of prevention of violence. Ms. Plank spoke about the aim, the activities and the results of the project Contraction to domestic violence in three municipalities of Veliko Tarnovo region of Centre Maria Association Gorna Oriahovitsa. Lyudmila Tsvetanova and Donka Petrova accepted the award and expressed their satisfaction from the recognition for the work of their team over many years.

Venislav Iotov, Manager of Colonnade, and Levon Hampartzoumian, Chair of the Board of Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, from the Board of the foundation, presented Momchil Vassilev, Managing Director of Endeavor Bulgaria and Irena Komitova, representative of Economist Group. They told about the project of Educational Centre Children’s Palace and Zdravets Association in Ruse Children’s Brigade – Lessons on Gardening and Bee-keeping for Children. Blagovesta Cenova from the centre told about the development of the activities and the gradual involvement of more children, parents and teachers.

Grigoriy Ananiev, Managing Director Markets Head Central Europe, Citi Europe Plc., spoke about the change that the colleagues form NGO Club Targovishte, LARGO Association Kustendijl, National Network of Heath Mediators and Thirst for life Association Sliven have reached with the project Regulation 26 in action – more healthy babies and happy mothers. He paid special attention to the ongoing activities aimed at wide application of the regulation in practice. Nevena Madjarova and Dr. Tanya Andreeva shared their satisfaction from the work of a big team of specialists, researchers, lawyers and supporters. They expressed sincere hope that their efforts will reach thousands of babies and their mothers and families in Bulgaria. Together with Dyliana Dilkova and Vanya Abadjieva their received the award on behalf of all people dedicated to the cause.

The event ended with a toast for the awarded team behind the projects of 2022 and lively discussions among participants and guests to the ceremony.

The awards are equal. They are especially made by the prominent Bulgarian sculptor Georgi Capkunov. The ceremony is organised with the media partnership of the Informational Portal of NGOs in Bulgaria and in cooperation with the National Palace of Culture.
