Much has been said about the place and role of NGPOs in Bulgaria. There are different opinions, the organisations are different as different are people. We believe that "By their deeds you will know them!"

That's why for 20 years now we have been organising the Project of the Year competition every spring. It is our way of publicly showcasing the work of civil society organisations and their achievements and importance to people. And in the past year 2024, various organisations across Bulgaria have worked dedicatedly and professionally, expanded the existing or started new activities, involved more and different people. This competition is for them. They deserve recognition. And this recognition is important for all of us as a society. Because the money raised from giving campaigns and funding programs changes nothing without the daily, focused work of motivated people who are responsible for their community.

The competition is open to projects of civil society organisations for social inclusion and improvement of opportunities and quality of life of people, implemented during 2024, regardless of the size and source of funding, the place of implementation, the type of activities or the people they are intended for.  

Traditionally, proven professionals in business, media and the arts will select the best projects. They will evaluate the submitted nominations on the results; sustainability of the activities over time; financial efficiency; involvement of people from the target groups and the local community; innovation and applicability of the idea in other localities.

Organisations and individuals are invited to nominate projects by sending a completed nomination form and a few photos of the activities to info@tulipfoundation.net by April 25, 2025.

The full list of nominated projects will be available on the Tulip Foundation website. The awarded projects and organisations will be announced at a public ceremony.
